Excel merger
Drop in a folder of monthly workbooks and get one sheet back. Every row carries a
source_file column, so a number that looks wrong can be traced to the
spreadsheet it came from.
What it does with a difficult file
-
Provenance
Every row knows where it came from
A
source_filecolumn is added as the first column. Without it, a merged sheet is a dead end the moment a figure looks wrong. -
Mismatched columns
Named, not hidden
If one workbook has different headings, a plain concatenation quietly produces a sheet full of empty cells. Here the offending file is named in the result.
-
Zip bombs
Refused before decompression
An
.xlsxis a zip archive. The declared uncompressed size is checked first, so a small upload that expands to gigabytes is rejected without expanding a single byte.
The same logic runs as a command line script in the automations collection, and the API behind this page is documented here.
