The IMO check digit
An IMO number is seven digits, where the last is a checksum of the first six weighted 7 down to 2. A single transposed digit fails it. The notice will not generate until the number is arithmetically valid.
Fill in the voyage details and the notice writes itself. The IMO check digit is verified as you type, and a tender time that falls before arrival is refused — the two mistakes that actually cost money on a laytime dispute.

Laytime runs from a validly tendered notice. A tender timestamped before the vessel arrived is not merely wrong, it is challengeable — so the tool refuses to produce one.
The same logic runs as a command line script in the automations collection, if you would rather generate these in a batch.
