PDF merger
Drop in a stack of PDFs and get one document back. They are ordered the way a person would
order them, so page10 lands after page2 rather than between
page1 and page2.
What it does with a difficult file
-
Ordering
Numbers sort as numbers
Plain alphabetical sorting puts
doc10betweendoc1anddoc2. The numbered order shown on the left is the order you get. -
Encrypted files
Skipped, not fatal
A password-protected PDF is left out and named in the result, rather than aborting the merge halfway through.
-
Anything that is not a PDF
Rejected on its contents
The file extension is ignored. Every upload is checked against its magic bytes, so something renamed
.pdfnever reaches the parser.
The same logic runs as a command line script in the automations collection, and the API behind this page is documented here.
